Spousal Visa (MCL for Chinese Nationals)

The MCL Spousal Visa is a special resident visa for Chinese nationals legally married to a Filipino citizen.

MCL Spousal Visa Categories

Long Term Residency

✓ Permanent residency status—valid across indefinite tenancy in the Philippines.
✓ Right to work in the Philippines
✓ Multiple-entry privileges, allowing free exit and re-entry over the visa validity period


Intial Period

✓ Granted a 1-year probationary permanent resident visa


Conversion

✓ Must apply for conversion to permanent resident status at least one (1) month
before the probationary visa expires


Renewal

✓ Once converted, the permanent resident visa is valid for 5 years
and must be renewed every 5 years

Documentary Requirements

✔️ Joint letter request from the Filipino spouse addressed to the Immigration Commissioner

✔️ Original or authenticated marriage certificate (PSA-issued; if married overseas, authenticated
by Philippine embassy/consulate)

✔️ Birth certificate of the Filipino spouse (PSA issued) and of dependent children, if applicable

✔️ Bureau of Immigration (BI) clearance certificate
